Histochemical Study on the influence of α-Chyniotrypoin in Rat´s Salivary glands

Abstract
|
|
|
The effect of a-chymotrypsin on the rat Salivary gland was studied for the purpose of identifying the proteinous substance.
The experimental rats ware injected 0.2 ml. a-chymotrypsin (a-chymotrypsin 0.2 mg was dissolved in physiological saline) subcutaneosly, during 1, 2, 3, 5, 7,10,14 and 21 days respectively. €
The histochemical procedures used were alloxan-Schiff reaction for a-amino acid, Pearse´s method for SH and SS, and PAS-azur ][ stain, basophilia, and as well as H-E stain.
In the salivaly gland, it was found that the stain ability of a-amino acid, SH and SS increased-at-3 to 7 days after a-chymotrypsin injection.
